Here's a little at-home spa treatment for yourself: get yourself some L'oreal Kerastase MASQUEINTENSE (it is available in Shanghai, although cheaper in Hong Kong). Shlop it on your hair after shampooing & towel drying; wrap your hair in cling film/saran wrap (cover your entire head), then wrap your head in a towel. Rinse off after twenty minutes and you'll have fabulous hair again!!! Not to mention, it'll smell wonderful! :)

Where can one get the Kerastase in HK? I saw it in Australia this past month but MAN OH MAN was it pricey.

I'm sure they sell some of the range at NEXT which is on the 22nd floor of the Centrium Building.

There's a great little hairdressing shop on the corner of Pottinger Steet and the street where Starbucks is on the corner of (apologies cannot recall the name) they sell Keratase.

And in between the mask treatment days, you can add a drop or two of baby oil/olive oil into your regular hair conditioner +mix it up before using it

Try full-milk yoghurt + lemon juice + olive oil, cheap and handy 'hair mask'.

How does one know that one is buying real Kerastasé stuff (I too would like to buy some).

I once saw people @ the hairsalon that I used to go to pour some other concoction from a non-descript bottle into a l'oreal kerastasé one - ok, this was for salon use, but still ....

l'occitane's huile soin cheveux a l'huile d'olive a.o.c. (hair care oil with a.o.c. olive oil). just rub a small amount between your palms and fingers, and stroke through your hair. lovely smell too. [better yet: have your honey massage it into your hair ;-) ]

If you live in DB they sell it at the hairdressers (last time I checked).

Strawberrynet.com is FAR too expensive for Kerastase! The two best places I've found in Hong Kong are: Professional Hair Care Products (located where Pottinger Street intersects with Wellington Street in Central). Their number is: 2536-0603 (Kitty - the owner, is very helpful). Alternatively, you can visit Adam at Hair Passion (towards the end of Stanley Street in Central). Their number is: 2877-1731. They are Authorized Kerastase Distributors, and if you purchase 2 products or more from the line, they will give you a 10% discount. They also have an uber cool Kerastase computer program that will test your hair/scalp to determine what type of Kerastase salon hair treatment would be most beneficial for you. Should you decide to have a treatment, I would highly recommend Adam; however, Thursdays are his day off. Both Kitty & Adam speak excellent English.

mash up avocado in milk with a dash of carrot juice. otherwise, just cut it off and let it grow again.

Took bus 40M one stop past the 7-11 near Lan Kwai Fong. It stops right in front of a tiny little Chinese Hair shop. In the window is LOADS of Kerastasé products. I bought the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in for curly, dry hair for $440 for all 3. Professional did not have Kerastasé in the shop. Lovely man working at the shop, Michell & Rene Hair Design and Beauty.

Tis the real thing...all good.

hi tia, may i ask you for the shop's number by any chance, if you have it? i will be in hk soon and would like to go there. kerastase products are hard to find here in manila, and i don't trust the beauty salons! am sure they dilute or recycle their containers with non-kerastase products.

lotusinbloom, thanks for the info above - i will check out those places as well.

25442136

Open 830 to 730 Monday to Saturday.

Take 40M bus and get off when the bus turns onto Lyndhurst Terrace. It is honestly RIGHT THERE when you step off the bus. The window display is full of the product.

Voice of reason - its a funny old world!

I go to Manila once every 4 - 6 weeks just to go to the Keraste salon there for treatments. I also buy all my products there, slighly cheaper than the HK price but agreed not a lot, however the treatments in the keraste salon are superb and nothing like the expensive Hong Kong salons where all you get the treatment + cling foil and hot towel that any one can do at home. Find the treatments using the proper equipment + stress releiving massage in Manila absolutely superb. Also teh hairdesser Jayson in the salon atached to the Keraste salon is great - haircut costs equivalent of $80 HK.

In case you dont know the salon is next to the Shangri La hotel in Makati fronting onto Makati avenue.

The same products are also sold in the hairdressers in the Penninsula.
