Since we did not bring a bed with us we are looking to buy one. We like a soft bed, king size. I found one I really like at Simmons in Prince's building but it was $58,000HKD!! And took 3 months for delivery from the states. Anyone have a suggestion where to get something like what we want at a more reasonable price?

Wing On in Sheung Wan has reasonably-priced King Size beds. We bought one about 6 months ago and I have been sleeping like a baby ever since.

HKD$58,000 is not that a high price to pay for something you spend so much time in. I'm looking for the very top-end beds. Simmons is a middle-end bed.
Any idea where I could look for the top-end ones?

My bed from Pricerite is perfect - I agree you spend alot of time in bed but 58k is such alot for a bed - I hope it makes the coffee when you wake up. Anyway Wing On in Sheung Wan and Sogo in CWB have the best selection I've seen adn are the only ones that do the box bed ie: not a mattress that you sit on a frame.

There is a Serta shop in Vicwood Plaza next to the Sheung Wan MTR station - they claim to have the best mattresess in the world. I saw the shop and thought of you.

I would have to recomend Sogo in Causeway Bay, I believe they sell Simmons and are usually 40-50% off. I recently purchased a Seally Posturepedic Pillowtop (Double Size) and believe that it was less than $10k and it was delivered same week.

If you have time, fly to Bangkok, have a bed custom made and get the mattress there as well and have it all shipped here. I got a 4 poster queen in teak with matching settee and a Simmons pillow-top for about 17k + abt 2500 to ship. Add in the flight and it's way less than 58k! Just a thought...

I checked Wing On they're ok, I wouldn’t personally use them though.
We picked our bed up from DSL furniture, they have a large selection of designs to choose from, I was impressed. Ask about there mattress prices to, they have great deals but don’t advertise on there web site.
There is also a large selection of retailers in Shenzhen, if you don’t mind the trip up there. One area in particular is called yizhan.
If you do decide to visit, I’d recommend writing the address in Chinese and printing off a map for the taxi drivers.

One thing to note if you are from the U.S. is the mattress sizes are not the same here. I bought a "king" mattress and was disappointed as it turned out to be closer to the size of a queen in the U.S. None of my bedding fits. Make sure you check the measurements, especially the width, to determine if it is really the size you want.
