I had a good investor, but he recently moved. Am looking for another.

Any advice?

If u are thinking of doing finanical planning ie. buying funds portfolio, you do not need to pay anything to the financial agent. You can go to HSBC for enquiry, but their financial knowledge is only average. I personally have bought funds portfolio from an independent financial advisory house, my agent Tim is really professional and knowledgeable. Let me know your email account if you need his details.

I would appreciate any recommendations of FPs in HK from the above thread by PM, or from anyone else?

Aston's not 100% correct although there are FP out there who do try to make a quick buck - because they may not see financial planning as a long time career. Gertrude is more on track - most CFP's would want repeat business and referrals to new clients so it's in their best interest to do the best for you.

You can check the website of the IFPHK - for a list of Certified Financial Planners in HK. Look for a Certified one - means they've actually put in many hours of study to get their certification and should understand more about the options they can offer you.

Also look for their achievements/ additional qualifications.

They should also preferable have been in this field for a long while.
