Does anyone know any wholesale/bulk purchase outlets for decent aussie meat. The super market stuff is all pre cut,(and very expensive) and i'm happy to slice my own being x meat worker in my youth.

TC Deli in Hang Hau village near Sai Kung/CWB are excellent. They import Fresh (not Frozen although they do have frozen Aussie /butcher sausages) Whole Rumps etc from Cargills of Wagga Wagga (plus a lot of other Ozzie stuff) and will butcher and pack to your liking.

Many American (Texans) colleagues swear it is the best they have ever had!!!!

We've been buying from South Stream Seafoods and the quality has been good. You order over the web and they deliver.

Why not pool your buying with friends and go direct to wholesaler?

Recent purchase 22kg case of US Certified Angus Rib Eye beef. It worked out to approx $185/kg, and we each ended up with about 5kg of steak each..haha.

Was def worth it and will do again. Maybe tenderloin next

That's what I do....

My friends are also starting their own online Aussie meat import business. It should be launched about June. Their website is www.meatmarket.hk where you can register for more info.

Hi - on the South Stream Seafoods site, they label hormone free poultry. Should I expect Aussie meat to be hormone treated unless it says otherwise, or is this just over-labelling?

Pls PM me.

Usual cost of US Angus ribeyes goes for approx $390-400/kg in stores like PnS or Wellcome. And that's for Canadian Angus.

City super sells their US angus for over $500/kg.

Evi, you can trust the crew at SSS. I spend 10K a month there. Try their Aussie grain fed tenderloin or ribeyes. Have them cut the way you like.

wrt southstream and their meat, you will see labelling for grain-fed, organic etc - so pick the one you feel most comfortable with. Have liked everything I have gotten from them except the mince beef - how do the other suppliers compare?
