Is $269 for 18 months and 62 channels the cheapest deal out there?

chinacrisis, cable tv is the only provider for the full world cup matches. you are right, this is the deal they are currently offering. i had been using 'now' previously and because my boyfriend wants to watch the world cup, we just signed on for this deal as well.

Just wanted to let you know, I heard somewhere that cable will not be showing any premiership matches after this season. I think 'Now' has secured the contract to show all matches.

That's just in case you have signed cable packages thinking you will be able to watch footie for the whole 18 months as well as the World cup.

It must be available on the internet somewhere... without paying $$$... Anyone know where? bbc.co.uk is showing it, but only to UK residents - where it will be free on free TV anyway.

same here... where does the broadcast come from? Do you get commentary, and which language is it?

i've tried them both. ppstream and tvants.

ppstream appears to be the best, but you need to read chinese, as the installation and channels names are in chinese. You can get by, but it will be a case of searching through each channel to find the channel you want.

tvants is good, but appears to have a little less usage - the more usage - the easier it is to watch. install using this guide http://www.football4less.com/streams/tvants.html which is in English. some channel names are in english. most channels come from china, but the game i saw had bi-lingual commentary - one out of each speaker.

i think i'll be using tvants over the WC.

It sounds a pretty sh*t way to enjoy the world cup, something that's on once every 4 years. There is a world cup promotion on now with cable tv where you pay $160 each month for an 18 month contract. That will take you up to the point when cable's premiership coverage runs out. That's what ive gone for. There's no way I'm going to be watching the world cup on an internet stream

agree 4" vs 42" = massive difference in viewing enjoyment. Especially for 3am tired eyes. P2Ps Good for free... while $160/mth sounds a good deal for cable.
