My friend teaches it in HK. You can check out her article at www.babyconspiracy.com.

I taught it to my older daughter from about 7 months and she started signing back to me when she was 8.5 months old. (first sign - MOON, and right after that MILK.) I used the book by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn called Baby Signs - which is available at HK public library.

The earliest I've heard of a baby signing back is 4 months old - (the sign was milk) and I started signing to my younger daughter from about 4 months old. Her sister teaches her a bit and thinks it's funny and neat when I sign to her younger sister.

It's been a truly amazing experience and I would definitely do it all over again.

Baby Signs Hong Kong does Parent Workshops. Give them a call at 9633-3117. Both my husband and I have been signing with our boy since he was 8 months and it's been incredible the things that he could communicate through signs even before he could talk. Based on our own experience, I HIGHLY recommend teaching baby signs to your child! :)

I completely concur with HKCC, baby signing is fabulous in every way....communication, understanding, reduced frustration, bonding. My daughter still falls back on some signs if I've misunderstood something she said, and she's 3 now. She signs with her animals and dolls too :-)
