I have had botox done several times adn I haven't had any bruising either. I agree that it depends on the person and certainly on the doctor.

I do occasionally get a little red spot where the needle went in but that calms down and is gone the day after. I wouldn't recommend having it done during lunch time. Especially for the first time because a) you will need to have your consultation first and sign form and b) you don't know how you'll react and may want to stay out of the lime light for half an hour at least.

by the way where are you having it done? I have had mine done at Face Magic Haven. They are very professional although I have to say their client relationship management skills suck the big time since they had some staff shifts so am looking for somewhere else.

Not sure, depends on how many units you need, would say around HK$ 3000. as always ask for a discount. Botox can last up to 6 months.

sandiexxx - thanks for letting me know. I love Dr. Tom - he's a real sweetie and he always did a great job. You mean they fired him too? Honestly that place is going down the pits. I had a glycolic and botox a few weeks ago with ... let's call him the other male doctor at FMH ... and he wouldn't stop wanting to chit chat with me. Excuse me, but I do not want to have small talk whilst you are sticking a needle in my face or slapping acid on my face. Let's just focus on the task at hand! Anyway, thamnks for the tip. Do you have any tips on where to get IPL? I was going to go with FMH but I really don't want to stay with them.

hi Tams...Dr.Image has IPL as well, talk to Dr. Tom, he can explain their equipment better than I. For a good glycolic, I use Body Conscious, at Centrium, Clarine is the therapist, in fact they have a really good facial special going, using Murad products, and as good as a glycolic peel. think its HK$850 including half hour massage, the Murad product is very good, it did ''tingle'' as it has AHA in. End results very good !

good luck..

Hi

I am recently moved to Seoul. But my experience is that Ihave worked in the medical industry for many years, in particular worked with an Australian Plastic Surgeon. Botox very rarely causes bruising, but it does depend on the individual and where the capilleries lay. When injecting you may hit a small vessel and this is not controlled or deliberate. Most times it is avoidable as usually the vessels are deeper. But in some people they are closer to the surface. I have had Botox for the past 4 years and have been bruised twice in all that time.

The best results are used when they use the correct dosage....As it is expensive, some Doctors will use minimal amounts to increase their profit. So make sure you are getting what you paid for...Usually around 20 units is the best you can ask for....Check with the Doctor...Good luck

Am thinking of doing IPL as well at FHM, but how much does it cost and does it include a facial as well?

Call and check pricing at FMH for the IPL, usually does not include facial. Then call Dr.Image and see what they are charging. The IPL machine at FMH, is the basic cosmetic one, which has a low frequency, at Dr. Image, its a different version, HK laws do not allow, a therapist to use IPL machine on clients, it has to be done by a Dr.

Hi Sandiexxxx,

Thanxs for the recommendation to Dr.Tom at Dr.Image.Their IPL is the newer higher frequency ones different from the mini IPLs used at beauty centers like FMH.

My sun spots faded after the 2nd IPL treatment and much more reasonably priced than FMH.

I also had Botox for reduction of my jaw line muscle(Which looked use to look like Jay Leno). It takes about a few weeks to kick in but really makes my face slimmer and more feminine. You are right Dr.Tom is a sweetie pie...but a bit of an eccentric.

Hi live2love,

How much did they charge you for jaw reduction with Boxtox, I am very interested and my surgeon told me it will cost me around $7000 if done by him....mind to share? Many thanks!

Although I have yet to have it done myself (but keen) many of my friends have it done regularly in clinics in Pattaya and the cost is 5000baht per area (HK$1000) so if the cost is $7000 as bimmerboy has been quoted it seems you should all spend a week in Thailand having a holiday and get it done there - all for the same price! Goodluck to all have seen great results on all my friends!

it seems that HK is a very expensive place for aesthetic stuff.

Hi Sharni and Balzac,

Dr. Tom charges $4,800 for botox jaw reduction and $2,300 for botox one area, but this includes a free top up....which is a bonus,if you feel you need more after a few weeks and tends to last longer if you do top up.

Dr.Tom has a gentle touch and can give you a courtesy discount if you do more areas.

I heard some places in Thailand don't use the original botox or water it down more,so make sure you check the bottle for the real Mac Coy!

Hi Marypoppins and Bimmerboy,

I had Botox several times and have only been bruised once near the eye squint area.Very tiny bruise.

As for reduction of face...the jawline muscle can be reduced if you have big jaw muscles. Also had this done at both FMH and drImage.Try drImage,They charge a few thousand hkd less than FMH.However, ask for Dr.Tom though...he use to be at FMH but no longer works there. He has a gentle touch and demeanor.

My friend recently been to FMH, she has recently moved to HK and have heard a lot about FMH, she told me it is one of the best clinic she has been too. The staff are very professional no hard sell tactic and everyone are very nice, I highly recommend this clinic you won't regret.
