Hi Moms and Dads,
I used the Babyjorn baby carrier for my first child, and LOVED every minute of using it. But the reason is my daughter is almost 3 years old, and she's still just 27 lbs. She's very light, and was still under 20 lbs under 2 years old!
But now, my baby boy, who is 8 months almost, is already 19 lbs, and I cannot use the babyjorn with him more than 30 minutes. It's also due to the tiredness of taking care of two young children, instead of two.
In short, can anyone recommend an excellent baby carrier that preferably sits on the hip type that I can buy in HK that I can use on an upcoming trip for the baby, while my toddler sits in a stroller for the trip ?
I am looking at the Quinny one sold at Bumps to Babes, anyone used it ? I had a similar one from Tommee Tippee, was like a $ 100, but the strap around the neck literally killed me using it. So no way ! But the idea is the same, seats the older baby/toddler on the hip, but has a strap around the neck.
THanks for any information!

I just researched a bit, and found Ergo Carrier being recommended by a lot of moms out there. Bought it from Doubibou, hope it works for us!

Why don't you come to Nappypooh's babywearing meeting on the 26th ? All the person there will present their carrier and talk about their pros and cons.

Well maybe on later date, you'll be able to come to tell us about your Ergo ;-)
Have fun!

i got mine last week and have used it a couple times, mostly on my back. even used it sat from 10:30am-5:30pm. i admit my back was tired by 4:30 but after so many hours!! my back used to kill me after 30min with the baby bjorn.
they have a video on how to put the baby in the back position on their website, if you run a search on google.
i have an 11month old 20lb baby. i don't do it the same way as the video clip but similarily, shifting baby to back by bouncing her slightly while moving her. have yet to try the hip position though.
Sylvieng- how much is it to come to the seminar pls?
thanks!

Divalicious,
The babywearing meeting is free of course. The idea is to meet up, chat about our different carriers and have some nice time together. :-)

I got my ergo carrier last week, tried it with different positions. Tired my 8 month old out with all the positions....
I found it was better for my toddler! (25 lbs), but my 8 month who is 19 lbs seems to kind of swim inside the pouch.
I found the front position alright, but the hip position is what I really wanted, but the strap seems to still scrape me on the neck. I keep wondering if I am not using it correctly with all the zillion straps and buckles on that thing.
Front and back position seems very comfortable, better than my baby jorn for sure. Wish the side position was more comfortable, and YES, I can't figure out how to put the baby in and get the baby out when I am alone. I have to have someone help me each time I used it.

havnt tried the hip position for the ergo as i had mentioned earlier, but i have been using a combi carrier for that and it's marvelous. still hurts the shoulder mind you, but for short trips it's okay. also it's so light and easy to use, i can easily just hang it off the handles of the pushchair for use in the cabs.
