we have just arrived in HK. We have 2 ceiling fans that are of no use in the house we've leased. Let me know if you are intersted. I am in Mid Levels.

singhs,
I am very sorry to hear that you have had a problem with your fans. Please call us tomorrow and we will rectify the problem. We do have electricians on board with spare parts to help out at any time but it helps if you call or email to let us know that you are experiencing problems.
I look forward to hearing from you.

A quick note to praise the staff at life's a breeze. I cracked the glass cover on the light for the fan. They were incredibly helpful and I was able to get a replacement glass for the light. Thank you for you for your help. Regards Steve.

If you want higher quality but expensive fans, go to lifesabreeze. If you want cheap and ok quality, get SMC. I went to Lifesabreeze 2 weeks ago and I am sorry I have to say this...but the sales rep was not very helpful and doesnt seem like she wants to help. Maybe she was having a bad day...I ended up buying a SMC fan and so far so good.

"I love and need ceiling fans. Has anyone had them installed on a concrete roof without a light fixture there? Is this possible?"
Sure. As long as you can pull a cable to that location from some electrical outlet/box it's no problem. You can make a trench in the wall and ceiling or just run it externally. The latter is much cheaper and less hassle, but also less aesthetically pleasing. If you have a fixture reasonably close you can eliminate that and use the cabling/switch for the fan.
I suggest getting a remote in the fan if you have a light in it. Much easier than reaching up.
Our experience at Life's a Breeze was great. We have 7 fans in our place and we couldn't be happier. But I guess your experience may vary.
BTW fans do wonders for your electric bill.
