I am a foreigner receiving death-threats by her exbf. The police and the consulate help but can't do anything unless I really get hurt (if not killed). The guy has nothing to lose and has a violent past, proof that he can do it.

Would a bodyguard help at least to make sure I am safe for the coming months until the guy forgets or leaves China?

Does anyone know where I can hire a bodyguard in Shanghai?
