Best egg tarts in Hong Kong??

Whenever I have a chance to grab an egg tart, it's either at a yumcha restaurant as a dessert or when I just bump into a place on the streets.

Honestly, I never tried to look for a 'better' egg tarts in HK.

Would there be any 'better' places for an egg tart? Or would they be almost universal and taste almost the same everywhere?

Someone told me there's a place called 'Taichung(?)' near SOHO is good.

I did.. ^^ I sometimes go for the plain 'egg tarts' and sometimes go for the 'portuguesa' version. But, the latter always seems to run out faster. Obrigado~~!

I saw the a sign that says Lord Stow's Portugese Egg Tarts on the wall outside the Excelsior Hotel a couple of weeks ago. Did't explore it further though. Are they really good?

About Tai Chung, I found the shop across the street from Dozo, but also have never tried them. Can someone comment?

I'm a huge fan and looove the flaky crust and burnt top of Portuguese egg tarts. When I see them freshly-baked, I buy them from any of the ff:

-- Taste (what used to be Park & Shop in Citygate, Tung Chung)

-- Orchid bakery at the arrival hall of the airport

-- Lock road in TST

-- Tai Cheong along Lydhurst Terrace

-- and yeah, Kentucky makes a yummy version

The tarts can be refrigerated for 2 days (the longest I did) and reheated in a toaster oven
