any suggestion for a xmas relexing get away??

apart from china, thailand, spore, bali. what was your most relexing and interesting get away recently?? anyone been to fiji??

I used to live there (until 1999). It can be both a great place and a frustrating place to live (just like anywhere I guess), and a great place for holidays. The problem from HK is that it takes so long to get there as I think you'd have to transit via Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Tokyo or Auckland. But when you get there you will find some lovely resorts, both on the 'mainland' of Viti Levu and on the two island chains (the Yasawas and the Manamucas) off the Nadi coast. The capital Suva is nothing special and there's nothing there to warrant the two-hour drive from the west just to see it. If you want any more specific info on Fiji let me know, but as much as I like the place I wouldn't be spending all of my holiday time getting there from HK. There are som real options in Vietnam and I'm sure someone will come up with some specific suggestions. Believe it or not one of the most relaxing holidays we've in recent years was in Singapore! Sentosa Island (not the first time I've been there) was as relaxing as we wanted it to be.

I lived there till 2007, and still travel there for business. If you get off the main island, their is much more to do. Taveuni is the 3rd largest island, but with a pop of only 12,500. Very nice lots of amazing tropical things to do. If you want more info let me know. I also run the largest hotel on the island & have villas for rental.

Have you considered the Maldives? You'll probably have to change planes in Singapore, KL or Bangkok as Im not sure if there are direct flights from HK. The beaches there are just as great as Fiji. There are many resorts. You'll pay top dollar at Xmas though.
