The Colour Bar - feedback on Antionette (or Ian)?

I have recently received a recommendation to go to Antionette at The Colour Bar. Does anyone have any feedback on her colouring and cutting abilities (or Ian's at the same salon?). I am in particular interested in feedback regarding their ability to do a great blonde colour (highlights)as that is proving to be a particular challenge for me in HK! (despite having tried a couple of the other recommended hairdressers)

Antoinette gave me a good cut but my color came out absolutely horrible. I wanted the color of my naturally strawberry blonde hair evened out after a summer of sun and the highlights that were growing out. Her interpretation of strawberry blonde was an unnatural shade of orange. I looked like a tart for a good month. In general I think men give women better cuts and colors so maybe stick with Ian.

If you're looking for a stylist that knows colour - you should absolutely book Lauren at the Colour Bar - after struggling for years to find a decent colourist in HK, I went to her on a friend's recommendation and was delighted with the results. She actually listened to what I wanted and I love my blonde highlights - I have recommended friends and work colleagues and all of them were so impressed with her that they have gone back to her again and again. She gets booked up very quickly these days though.

We have a guset color specialist from the UK who comes in by appointment. Her name is Elana and she is excelent. Elana really listens to what the client wants and I have only seen excelent results from her so far. She does work full time over at the Fudge salon in Causeway bay but we made a deal for her to come to Central for some of our clients. She was one of the Lead Color Specialists for Toni & Guy in the past. Try a consultation and you can experience her excelent service for yourself.

i've had trouble for years finding decent blonde highlights, but finally found a place in causeway bay called ajisai. i highly recommend it.

i would recommend other places too other than the one the subject of discussion. I personally was not happy with the cut i received and watched my friends dark blonde hair turn orange... Other people have had good expereinces so all depends on what you want and whether you are listened to and received what you have asked. I'd try a cut first and see if you are happy, much earier to rectify if it does not work out.

I would highly recommend Ian at The Colour Bar(they have moved recently to off that little laneway adjacent to Melbourne Plaza) whom i have been going to for about 10 years now.Every time he is very careful and attentive to what my requirements for the cut are and only when we are both clear(me included) about what i want does he proceed .He is also willing to listen to feedback and adjust the final look if required-it is never a problem.i would recommend making an appointment with Ian in the first instance for the colour as his technical skills in this area are excellent
