I have just purchased 2 Fuzzi Bunz's pocket diapers to try. Can anyone tell me how do I initially wash them? Can I wash them with the babys clothes?

Thanks

You usually need to was 3 or 4 times to get the absorbency up - and don't use conditioner as it reduces absorbency. You can wash them in with a normal wash though if not using conditioner.

well for a pocket, no need to wash different times before, it won't matter in the absorbency since it's only polyester (the insert is in microfiber).

then, it is up to you to see how you do feel about washing.

some people can't stand the idea of mixing soiled nappies with clothes, some don't mind! If you don't mind you can perfectly wash them with your baby's clothes and for pockets that's even better (and easier!) actually as the pocket itself can be washed at 30/40oC, the insert could be washed hotter but it doesn't really matter!

by the way, there is a cloth diaper workshop this afternoon at Annerley's to clear all your doubts about that!

We use Persil Non-Bio for our baby clothes and cloth nappies. We wash them all together.

For the cloth nappies:

Shake poo out into toilet (if very sticky you could use a fushable liner to reduce mess)

Have a bucket with some water and Napisan

throw nappy, dirty bibs and other messy things in the 'wet' bucket.

Have another dry bucket for clothing and not so dirty things.

Throw it all in the machine together in the evening.

Done.

Very simple, not smelly, and easy to manage as a routine once you get used to it.

Great that you are using cloth nappies - Sophie at Doubidou is the cloth nappy goddess and Sylvie at Napppypooh is totally passionate and always helpful too! So they are your experts on this!

Whilst browsing for my Poncho Pals, someone from AsiaXpat recommended www.littlewonders.com.tw and they too sell the Fuzzi Bunz diapers. You could email Katrina at littlewonderstw@hotmail.com

I got a prompt reply regarding my ponchos and she seemed really helpful with my queries.

I cannot buy Fuzzi Bunz diapers in Hong Kong. But, I saw Charlie Bananas in 360. Anyone has experience using the Charlie Bananas cloth diapers please?

no experience with charlie bananas (a rather new brand as far as I know) but you can find Fuzzi Bunz online at doubibou

If you can, the best would be to try one of each and see which one you prefer!

The designers of Fuzzi Bunz decided to set up their own business and created Charlie Banana - essentially it's the same thing but with some great improvements and cool colours/designs. You can buy them at Three Sixty and Baby Central will be selling them too soon.
