where to find double baby stroller

Hello,

My wife and I have 2 children. One is 26 months, the other 8 months. We are looking for a double stroller. Toys R Us and Mothercare both have one model but they are of poor quality. Both are side by side and offer no compartments for putting essentials such as diapers, bottles, snacks, etc. They also do not look very well built or safe (which surprises me as Toys R Us and Mothercare are big names internationally).

Ideally, we are looking for a front back style model that has an option to recline the back for the baby. Storage in the back or underneath is also a plus. If anyone can offer assistance in this matter it would be warmly welcomed.

Thank you,

Jay and Marj

Hi,

we bought the Graco tandem duo with us from Aust. which is a limousine style double pram where the back reclines for a baby, and the front partially reclines for a toddler. Easy to move around and not too heavy. I have seen the newer model of this pram at Harbour City in the kids section near ToysRUs. Can't remember the store. Do a search on Asiaxpat because another lady asked about double strollers and I gave her the store name then. If you're walking towards ToysRUs it is on the right hand side. It's the only place I have seen this stroller.

We have been very happy with ours but I admit we don't use it alot in HK as our daughter can now walk and it's easier to take a single stroller for our son.

Hope this helps.

Eugene Club (i only know the ShaTin store) carries the graco duoglider (front-back stroller). back reclines flat, front for a toddler ... wasn't tooo expensive. (tho we didn't buy it as we need one for 2 infants so can't comment on quality ...tho have other graco products and are happy with them)

Hi Jay,

I had the same question as you did 6 months ago.... we were going on a trip to Japan, and also thought going out with two little ones.... a tandem stroller would be quite nice to have.

Well, I looked at all the options in HK and Kowloon... tried them all with the kids in them, and tried to push it around the shopping centers, and thought about closing it up and opening it up...etc. The whole routine..... decided NOT to buy one. B/c it was either too heavy, or too wide, or too bulky to store, and with HK being so child unfriendly.... I can't imagine dealing with a tandem stroller out in the shopping centers, up and down escalators, and definitely cannot do it alone..... must have one or two other people with you.

So we went on the trip with my elder one either in the stroller, or hippy chick, or walk. The little one is either in a carrier, or in the stroller (when the elder one isn't), or the hippy chick. Take turns... trust me, it 's alot easier than getting the tandem.

The only time we used the tandem stroller was when we were in universal studios Osaka..... we rented one for the day. Perfect for the day. Combi has the best tandem stroller... unfortunately, you can't buy it here. I tried to order online... but very expensive in both the stroller, and shipping. The stores all say to me, there is a GOOD reason why they don't carry tandem or double strollers in HK...... simply, it's not very practical to have one.

If I was still in Canada, I would have bought the tandem stroller immediately without any thoughts.

Good luck!

We found the Phil and Teds ideal as it could be used as a single or double. Like Katetam, we find that we seldom use it as a double, but when we are on long walks etc., it gives our eldest a chance to rest her legs for a while (and get some shade). You can remove the rear seat if you want to use it as a single.

We also have the Phil and Teds double stroller. Our model is called Navigator and we got it from http://www.prams.net because I couldn't find it in any mothercare shop here. It is a tandem style stroller so the kids sit behind each other. At the beginning we mainly used it with both seats but now Timmi mostly wants to walk himself so we only have on seat attached and an additional buggy board if we need to go a little faster. I'm really happy with it and would buy it again if needed however I also really like the Bugaboo Donkey, very fashionable stroller.
