Our four-month-old is getting more and more alert and inquisitive and seems to be getting bored of being horizontal all the time. I am thinking that it may be time to invest in an ExerSaucer, but there are so many different choices!
I've tentatively narrowed it down to an Evenflo one since bubs loves the one my friend has at home, but even this one brand has 4 different models:
Mega Active Learning Centre;
Ultra 2-n-1 Active Learning Center;
SmartSteps Active Learning Center; and
Delux Active Learning Center
Does anybody have any experience of these? Is there a general opinion on which is the best? I love buying new things for bubs, but the choices always make me a little dizzy!

I'd get the free one your neighbor is dying to give away because the darn thing takes up just too much space :-)
Once they get mobile, the exersaucer loses a lot of its intrinsic appeal. So you've probably got ~8 months, at best.

agree with my thoughts - my daughter, now nine months would rather crawl under into the saucer part than enjoy the actually sitting part. In fact, whenever I turn around, she's crawled into the saucer portion and is spinning herself dizzy in there. If you can find a used one, it's worth it. the difference in the ones you note above - may be in just the "toys" that come with it. As long as they are colorful, a few that make noise, and a few that are grabbable and moveable - I'd say that they were all pretty much equal.

Maya - Most of the Saucers are very much the same, with only colors and toys varying. I haven't looked up the ones you've listed here but things I would look for are:
1. Stay clear of the one that has the springs visible to the baby; the springs are encased in see-through 'bubbles' alongside the toys. I can't remember which have it, but one that does has a castle theme to it. Babies have gotten injured by getting into the spring part.
2. Look for a saucer that has sturdier looking fasteners...the ones with the circles that fit in the holes seem stronger than the ones with just tabs rather than the circles.
3. I'd opt not to get a 2-1...i.e. one that opens up for use later. I haven't had one but my guess is that most kids will already be over the toys by the time they can stand on their own and use the saucer as an activity center, etc...i.e. it probably won't be worth the space it takes up.
4. Another thought, if you know your baby likes to do certain things (flip pages, move things back and forth, press buttons, listen to music, etc.), look for a saucer with some of these activities in the toys. If you don't yet know what he'll like, get one with a good variation. If you're too overwhelmed to think about it, don't worry; most are varied anyway. ; )
Our bub loved the saucer for quite a while; in fact, sometimes we can still sneak her in it if we need to run to the kitchen, etc., and she's a little over 1 year. : )
If you'd like to save some $, Look to buy a gently used one if possible. We got ours off of the trading post here. But make sure it's not at all damaged...don't take chances.

Hi Joshmomm! I have an evenflow megasaucer, pm me if you want it. Its almost brand new - my son is walking now. He never really used it as he knew putting him in it was a sign he'd be deserted!
Incidentally, I'm a josh mom too!
Cheers

I ended up getting the Evenflo Ultrasaucer from Toys Club in Horizon Plaza. Saved my life for about 4 months but like joshmomm, now my little cruiser squeals as soon as he gets near it!
