Hi,
Does anyone have any good advice on CHANGING mobile phone providers in HK? I am on a postpaid account with one operator but have found at least two other operators who provide a package much more suited to my particular needs.
Does the new provider typically help in any way towards the cost of removing myself from my current contract? Are there any 'magic wand' things I can do to persuade them to do this? And if the new provider won't help - any tips on how to close my current account, port my number to the new provider AND do all this at minimum cost?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, my existing provider doesn't want to offer me what I am looking for. I am tied in to a fixed period (over a year I believe) with them. I did of course read the T&Cs, but what is DIFFERENT now is that other providers offer unlimited data for a fixed fee. For me this is important - I want to use my phone to check email on a daily basis. My data charges with my existing provider are capped at a certain amount of data...then EXORBITANT on a per-kilobyte basis after you reach your (small) limit.
Unlimited data wasn't available anywhere when I took out the contract. Now, it IS available - but only with the other providers. My provider doesn't want to offer anything similar.
Any ideas or am I just stuck?
