I have some relatives visiting later this winter, and they want to stay somewhere near me (I live in Stanley). Are there any guesthouses, hotels, B&Bs on the south side of HK Island? Or does anybody know if the southside apartment complexes have furnished flats that they rent out on a weekly basis?

I thought De Ricou at The Repulse bay had a minimum of one month? Maybe this has changed.
Parkview is a bit more flexible (sometimes) and can rent nightly or weekly.

got 5 family members comign to stay - does anyone know if this place has opened and how to contact them?Also heard there are serviced appts in happy valley

Not on Southside but if you are stuck for a short term serviced apartment Bishop Le on Robinson Road, Mid Levels has short term acommodation.
Don't know the price but have known many friends/family of friends who stay there say it is good and convenient. You can either walk down to Central or take the escalator or walk down to Admiralty. Bit of a hard slog coming back though - escalator or taxi usually.

Try ABEO in Aberdeen. It's right across South Horizons. I think the 1 month rent is $6K only. They can take bus 73 going to Stanley. Very accessible.
