Facial hair removal

I've been getting a laser one done in my home country and have had 3 sittings(out of 7). But after a few months of break, the growth has come back to it's original level. Seems like it has had no effect.

I did not always have this much hair on my face but after child birth and maybe some other stressful times, due to hormonal changes the hair on my face are just too much.

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to deal with them permanently here in HK? What has your experience been? Any specific clinics recommended for it? I need to do something soon. Desperate.

Hi,

If the laser doesn't work for you, or if your hairs are light colored (blonde, red, light brunette), you need electrolysis. As Doug said above, Nigar at Spa Beautie Par Zai is very good; also Pauline at Dr. Lauren Bramley. Nigar is in a spa/salon setting, Pauline in a medical one; both are excellent electrologists with long records of successful work.

Yes it is...She's outdoors a lot in her spare time I think, perhaps her priorities are merely different than yours?

I think Pauline at Dr. Lauren Bramley & Partners is the best. She is professional and very caring and has the best equipment. Contrary to Tidings2 post, I also think she looks great!

I think Nigar from Spa Beaute Par Zai has medical background as well. She does not practice medicine but she does use her expertise in every treatment. She is the best as doug & rachel recommend & on top of it she has other treatments to recommend. Her number is 93645271

Hi I am a beauty therapist and a specialist in the Hair Removal Industry. All the facts that have been posted are true re: colour of hair and IPL/Laser. Elemis Day Spa still facilitates electrolysis and they have recently acquired a new mecial strength IPL machine which I have worked with for 2 years now. Facial hair is more often than not hormonal and will recur no matter how many sessions of laser you have. It is however a maintenance option for your situation and you should be able to space your appointments further apart the more treatments you have. If you would like to give me more info on your hair and history I would be more than willing to offer you advice and point you in the right direction. years of experience pays off!

I did not mean to imply that either Pauline or Nigar has "a medical background" when I said that Pauline works in a medical setting. What I meant is that she works in a doctors office. I don't believe either she or Nigar has any medical qualifications, nor do they proport to have any; there are no medical diplomas or licenses posted for them at their places of business. But they are both excellent; would you rather go to a doctor's office or a spa for electrolysis is the question? Completely an individual preference, of course.

Pauline has quit smoking - good on ya Pauline! Pauline does excellent laser treatments and electrolysis and has recently done a vitamin C ultrasonophoresis which was the best and most long lasting facial (firming and glow with shrunken pores) for 4 months....She is my favourite beauty therapist in HK and all of my friends agree.
