Hi Marc,

Surprised that nobody answered your posting - these forums seem to be populated by Sai Kung people...!

Clear Water Bay as such has only one good Western restaurant - Lardo's in Hang Hau Village. Is is a bit cafe style but the food is really good. They have a set lunch from Monday to Friday for only HKD65.00.If you like meat that you have in your meal you can buy it in the shop behind TC Foods Deli!

Sai Kung has a few good Western Reataurants, The old favourite is (the original) Jaspas. Then there is Cru (part of the Jaspas etc group). Sauce is excellent - another HKD65.00 lunch menu plus 2 for 1 drinks Monday to Friday. The new kid on the block is Grande near Cru. We tried it last week and found the food excellent. There is an Italian deli roughly behind Cru.It has a fantastic selection of Italian goodies and has a limited number of tables downstairs and a small upstairs terrace when the weather is fine. They sell wine which can be drunk with the meal on payment of HKD50.00 corkage. Pubs such as Sreamers have small menus often featuring an all day "english breakfast" through to Indian curries!

I cannot recommend any of the (Chinese) seafood restaurants in Sai Kung. The only time we eat that sort of food in teh Sai Kung area we take a boat about 45 minutes up the coast and go to a place called the Wing Lee which is cheap, cheerful and good - run by a man who lived in the U.K. for many years...!
