New Tax Cuts

Specifically the rates waiver for 2 quarters. As I understand it for the next 2 qu's the govt will charge no rates. good news unless you are on a inclusive rent rate - which means the landlords will keep it. Might be worth a call to your landlord to see if they are feeling charitable (mine wasn't)

just wondered if anyone had had any luck with this

Ahhhh, but will you also contact your landlord when the rateable value rises?

thats a fair point, but to be honest cutting the tax to zero is intended to benefit the avge person not the corporate landlords (mine is a multi high rise owner - so will prob get millions of $ from this)

Brit: How long have you been in Hong Kong. Almost any economic policy measure/regulatory move in Hong Kong IS intended to benefit corporates (particularly the property developers), NOT the average person.

i've been here plenty long enough - but dont really get your point?

are you suggesting that reducing rates to 99% of domestic residences is intended to benefit property developers?
