Are accountants Good Book Keepers?

It is very normal. it depends what sort of "accounting" your friend was doing. if you are talking about some-one who trained with one of the big accounting firms or went straight from university to a higher level job in a big company, it is most likely that he will have no experience with book keeping tasks. It is not rocket science but it does require experience and a solid grounding to do well.


I am trying to think of a good analogy but can't (or am afraid to at risk of offending anyone)


In your case it sounds like you would definitely be better off all round with some one who has solid book keeping experience...but the dilemma of employing a friend - how to tell them. Check out the going rate for the job you want doing - maybe it is a bit cheeky of him to ask for me, especially when he isn't doing it well.
