Despite the terrorism, hubby and I booked ourselves for a trip to Bali for Easter (after much debates - mainly on the terrorist threats...)

and then there went the earthquake...shocked us quite a bit...and then today, Garuda airline's crash (we will avoid taking Garuda at all costs!)...

if you were us, would you still go tho...? Should we cancel? Plane tickets and hotel all booked!

Go, just see for yourselves how it is.

Stay away from Kuta(believe me), eat lobsters in Jimbaran, expensive yes, but no chlorine taste like the lobsters in Guangzhou.

Indonesian food like sate(Sate Bali in Seminyak), very refined cooking, regularly visited by Japanese tourists.

Hire a car with driver, AND tell him where you want to go, not him running the show.

See Kecak or Legon dance, usually 10US.

If money is no object, rent a villa, a proper one.

And have spa for you and hubby, highly recommended.

We stayed in Nusa Dua, okey but not that special.

Return someday, no.

Yes, I believe you! Your not the first one who warned us against Kuta! We're staying in Nusa Dua too...not looking for anything special, juz to relax...sun and beach that sort of thing.

Did Bali feel safe? Sound like it didn't really impress you tho?

Bali is beautiful, if you stay away from Kuta/Legian areas. Jimbaran is relaxed, good seafood, and cleaner beach. Safety concerns ? all cars coming into hotel entrances are checked, as are mopeds now, the classier restaurants also.

Nusa is pretty quiet, if you like Martini's go check out the Martini Bar at the Ritz Carlton, great settting, the food is also very good, a little expensive, but worth it. Also La Lucciola at Seminyak, beach location, nice for lunch. Enjoy your stay...
