I am a huge idiot and have losst a camera in a taxi...any hope to get it back, have filed police report, called losst and found etc, etc, absolutely losing my mind on this one, guess I should kiss it goodbye but any hope out there?

Absolutley not cause I am an utter idiot, I have done all the calls, paid my $$ to put out a call, even had the taxi numbers from around the time I got back to the building...it has been 5 hours so I think I am out of luck, and this was no cheap camera so even less chance of getting it back I think, won't be any sleep for me tonight...

Left my camera in a taxi 6 months ago...havent seen it since....sorry.Learnt my lesson now though and never close a taxi door behind me now without one last look

Sorry I dont think you will have any luck! I lost a top notch phone just 2 days after buying it I had the taxi number called mins after being dropped off, offered a reward but nothing! I am sorry it is devastating!

The odds are slim, closer to 15%, of getting it back but that is still a lot better than 0%. My friend got her wallet and passport back just the other week, so it can happen.

Well nothing has turned up so I guess it is gone. Tried everything but if anyone got thier hands on it they would know how much it was worth. Feel like such an idiot...thanks for all the stories or returned items, if you lose anything in a taxi Hong Kong is likely the best place because sometimes you get it back...

If your building is the sort that has a gate keeper they actually take down the registrtion of every car - I was able to track a taxi down this way - may be oo late now but perhaps someone else can use that tip. Other people have also told me to always get a receipt because apparently the taxi number is printed on there... guess I might also start doing this.

I tried tht but there were 7 taxis in a two minute timespan and the police will only follow up with one. But a receipt is definately the way to go.
