Hello everyone,
I am currently living in the UK and I'm very interested in permanently moving to asia. I would really appreciate any advice and comments on the steps to be taken in order to do this. My employment background is mostly working with heavy machinary, industrial work.
I welcome all comments, thanks..

What part of Asia? Why? Have you visited? Do you speak the language? These questions sound intrusive, I realize, but where, when, and how are affected by the answers. The other issue is, if you are English, is to ask how flexible you are in terms of mentality and ability to handle the curve balls that come your way. The people who do best seem (to me) to be very, very flexible mentally, outgoing and extroverted, open to many new experiences (ever tried eating sheep intestine?). Also, the pay package will be better if you get an expat assignment originating in England as opposed to being a local hire. But your industrial background could be very valuable in an area of the world that is experiencing an industrial revolution.

Beijing, likely. I have never visited China, but plan to do so in the coming year. I'm very adaptable to different cultures and trying new experiences is a posotive thing for me.
Thanks for the information, the website has some nice information.

There are also a great many locals who are very experienced in your feild of work.
You will find it easier to get work if you can do something that the locals cannot.
The thing to do is come and see you would get 6 months on your passport so that would give you time to look around and see whats on offer.
Good luck!
