Do they work? I mean is it worth getting one for the sake of breathing clean air at least at home? recomend a brand?

The company behind this thing is in the hospital clean room business. Manufactured in Switzerland. (Apparently during the SARS crisis, IQair was the only qualified enough air purifier used in Hong Kong hospitals to protect patients from infectious diseases.
