For some peculiar reason, golf shops in the Central / Admiralty area don't seem to stock any left handed golf clubs. They all promise that they can order a specific set in to look at, but I'd rather be able to find a place with a decent range of left handed clubs already in stock that I can look at and compare on the spot.
Does anyone know of any good golf shops on the Island or perhaps in Kowloon that always have a good supply of left handed clubs in store?

There's a world re-knowned custom club maker on one of the outlying islands who can make lefties for you - for the life of me i cant remember their name - I think the island is Pui Yee (arghhh - old age/Molson taking their toll on the memory)

Sorry all the advice above is wrong. Used to be on Peng Chau then at City Golf Driving Range in Jordan.
Barry has gone back to Aust, Jake to Manila, Mick to Hua Hin and me I am no longer doing it.
Now under another name (but still okay)with shop located at Asia Golf DR in Cheung Sha Wan.
They should be able to assist as they still cary all our old stock.
PM Me if you want a contact number and name.

I am a lefty golfer too, and I bought my clubs in the USA.
Most of the shops here, when I asked for lefty clubs told me 'you should play right handed'!
And as for gloves, you will probably have to buy a 'set of two gloves to get one :)
There is one shop I found that did not say this, that accepted I am a lefty and play golf left handed. They have second hand clubs (rarely/never any lefty clubs) and they make custom clubs.
They are located in Causeway Bay, on a side street near Lee Gardens.
They have a map on their website:

But since you said you want to see and try the fel of a club before purchasing, I suggest looking at righty clubs, and then ordering the lefty version if that is what you want.
And if you book a driving range in HK, be sure to tell them you are lefty - they only allow lefties below/above certain bay numbers and if they are very good they will change the 'mat direction' for you before you arrive (about 50% of the time they do this). Oriental Golf at the old airport has a couple lefty clubs you can rent (a 7 and a 9 I think?).
I regulary have people approach me on the course amazed I am playing left handed.
Once I was playing in China on a walking course (no carts allowed), and we were teamed up with a lovely HK couple. The husband had a severe limp from having polio as a child. About half way through the round, the wife said to me "I think it is amazing you play left handed, it must be so hard"... And here I was thinking, there is someone who has not let his limp effect his lifestyle. And they were thinking the same of me being a lefty!
