Where to get these pens/crayons that can be wiped off easily with cloth and water? don't think my landlord will appreciate drawings on their beautiful wallpapers.

toys are us have washable crayola markers. i know they are machine washable but not too sure if you can just wipe them off. i was more worried about them getting on clothes.

markers and crayons are hard.

I'm really pretty strict as to where my children are able to use them - they MUST be on paper, they must not be on the floor, and I must be in the room when they use them. If no adult, then no crayons.

I do find markers to be more "dangerous" in terms of their attractiveness to be scribbled everywhere, so I don't use them. oil pastels are nice and soft and make intense colors easily without too much pressure. These are my daughters' favorite.

i've seen gymboree selling some water soluble crayons and my son has one for his birthday. it's mostly for bath time though. hope that's what you want.

What age did you start using crayons/pastels/paints?

I was thinking of getting toddler naked on balcony with baby safe finger paints but not sure where to get them.

I exposed #1 to them when she was about 12 months old. #2 has started around 13 months. #1 didn't have as much control to hold the pencils, but #2 is more dexterous and has better control and does better with them. (no paints for me as our house doesn't have a balcony - just the pastels.)
