Not a joke! As taken from the website:
Left-Handed Pens Writing with a fountain pen can be a real problem for left-handers as they are pushing the pen across the page, rather than pulling it, which leads to difficulty with ink flow and the possibility of the nib digging into the paper. The problem is greatly alleviated by the use of a left-handed pen which has the nib specially cut to avoid these problems.
So, we take it for granted being right handed but, having seen it first hand, when a lefty writes they can smudge their writing.

scissors too, they rarely work for me... there are so many little things where the angle of the blade/nib/handle/etc... is slightly angled for a righty, so slight you don't notice it until you try to use with your left hand.
scissors
can openers
the mouse for your computer
cell phone buttons
the list goes on...
Most you just adapt to with no problems, but some just don't work well or at all with the left hand...

jfildes> If buying school supplies for a child, also consider the left-handed pencil sharpener and ruler. My parents took me to buy a left-handed fountain pen from Anything LH not long after it opened its shop on Beak Street and bought these two items too - and I still have them!
philiprobert>many places sell left-handed keyboards. Google it.
