I have read the relevant ordinances and have come up with a basic understanding of:
“You may summarily dismiss your helper without notice or payment in lieu of notice if your helper, in relation to the employment:
wilfully disobeys a lawful and reasonable order;
misconducts himself/herself;
is guilty of fraud or dishonesty; or
is habitually neglectful of his/her duties.”
Does anyone have any experience with this clause?
I believe in a fair day's work for a fair day's pay, but a month's payment for someone who lies/cheats or steals? This is something I just can't understand...

call the labor department asap to clarify. also if she stole from you, report it to the police so it can be "blottered" and be recorded.
make sure that you make it in writing inc. the reason why, and send a copy to the labor dept./police dept. - make sure she counter signs it so that she understands why you are letting her go.

Hi,
First of all it is right what Wiz Bang did reply. Write everything down what you think is necessary. Make some copies one for each party you think they should have one and let them be signed also from your helper. But there is no doubt about it that lying cheating and stealing is similar to misconducting behavior. Second, normaly you might have to pay till the day she was getting dimissed for certain reasons. I you have any evidence that she/he has done it for a longer time, maybe you mustn´t pay her for the hole month. I studied this witty stuff at university
Greetings
