Hi. I'm bringing my family over to Hanoi for 18 months. I have a son who will be 2.5 and a daughter who will be 11 months old. Will I need to bring baby seats for transporting them in taxis and other cars? Cheers

Yes, I'm coming to Hanoi from Sydney. I'll be there in July.

Using a baby car seat is the safest way to travel with your baby/child in a car. So it is a good idea for you to bring these with you.
If you are renting a car/driver for your time in Hanoi, be sure to request in advancea car with seatbelts in the back.
For Taxis, you might find something like a joeysafe or totengo more convenient:

They are not car seat replacements, but are convenient for taxis and safer than just having the baby on your lap.

crj, which one is easier to use? i am thinking about buying the safety 1st but have read reviews that it is hard to install. i thought it was like a backpack that you strap on to the child and then put the seatbelt thru. can you please give me more info if you have used them? thanks!

Do a search for Joeysafe on this forum, there was just a thread on this exact topic comparing the two.
