Safety gate - which and where?

ORIGINAL POST

There were some threads about this a while back. Could someone kindly tell me which is a good one and where it is being sold? I'm looking for one without any kind of installation, just place it against the door frame. Thanks.

just got mine from mothercare in windsor house opposite ikea in Causeway bay. under $500 no need to fix to wall just unscrew the bolts untill the pressure is enough to hold the gate into place.

I've just gone to Mothercare but the safety gate which was recommended is out of stock and there is no shipment this or next month.

Bumps to Babe sells the Lindam one. Is this any good?

I use Lindam stairgates and are fine. Just make sure the width you buy fits the stairs you have otherwise you need to buy a gate that can be extended. I got some secondhand Lindam gates and found Lindam had changed the size so I had to order extensions from the Uk which was easy enough to do.

Thanks for the info. I've already gone to Toy'r us yesterday and saw a few models. I'd like to make sure that I'll be buying one with good feedback.

We have an O/3 Baby one and haven't had any problems.

I bought a Lindam gate as per recommended in this forum (posted a thread some time ago) and like it very much. One good feature of the gate is that it hinges itself to the lock automatically (maybe all gates have this feature?)

Thanks, again. Looks like the Lindam is a good choice too. How about the UK brand "Bettacare"? Eugene Club Centre sells this safety gate which is auto-close as well? I'm looking for a safety gate to be put against the kitchen door frame.
