there are some very comprehensive threads on laksa already. do a search. i've only seen assam laksa once in HK. it's at a malyasian restaurant near LKF. on that street behind pacific coffee. but it was so far from the real thing - not worth the disappointment!

I went to the one in Wanchai a few weeks ago and asked for the asam laksa but was told that it's only served at the Central branch.

The best laksa I've tasted here was at a place called Anytime (?) in Ashley Rd, TST. Alas, like a lot of restaurants in HK, it is nowhere to be seen now. Maybe it has just relocated but I haven't seen it for about 3 years. Beustiful tasting laksa, although I have to admit that a Malaysian friend of mine thought it was 'only OK and nothing special'.
