We might be moving to Guangzhou soon. Does anybody know which baby food to get there ? I am especially interested in the Formula. Here in HK we are using the Nestle 2 HA (imported from Germany. Is this also available there ?
Are there maybe any shops websites ?

Hi, thxs a lot for your reply.
My son is 10 1/2 months now...so anyway he won't need the baby food that much longer... I am preparing my own purees already...it's basically just if you are out and you have to feed them ... We still use the Baby Rice Cereal and these things....
I will know about the move in about a month I think... I will contact you back then. Great to know that there are at least a few mother who can help. Do you have any playgroups there or something to get together ?
Thxs again,
Manuela

Hi there, STB just beat me to it on giving you some answers!!!
The Nestle formula is available here but it's the NAN one not the Ha one - v similar I think - I've given my baby both having bought the other in HK by mistake once! Some others that are available in HK are available here too.
Lots of baby rice cereals available too - I think Jusco has the best selection, and also has some Japanese baby foods. Lots of availability of fresh fruit and veg at the local markets which is great for baby and for you for making purees.
I moved here from HK too and was v aprehensive but I really like it here now - and it's easy to pop back to HK and stock up every now and then.
There's availability of all the baby products you want, Avent, pigeon, nuk, tommee tippeee, plus western brand toys galore and all the clothes you find in Stanley market too...
And yes we have a playgroup here - STB and I go to the same one - my LO is 14 months and there are babies from 1 month to 2 1/2 years there. All very friendly.
Once you know about the move let us know - between us GZ Mummies on here we have a wealth of info on exactly where to find all the baby stuff!!

Great ! Thank you 2. I am not worried about the move...I lived in Shanghai a few years ago....so I am already a little bit used to life in China and at least there is HK close by.
O.k. so I will let you know when we come and hope to meet you there !
Take care

Hi mrhiehl,
I spend a great deal of time in the Guangdong Province (though not in Guangzhou). Well, you do get NAN (from the Nestle group) but regular supermarkets do not seem to stock the iron-fortified version (I used to get that from HK). Iron-fortified Enfamil (from Mead & Johnson) is available, though.
Organic stuff is hard to come by. A few organic vegetables and pulses - yes, (have no idea who the certifying authority is) but no organic cereals/jarred baby foods (again, used to lug them back from HK).
