I have seen more bad work come out of Bangkok than good. There are some good artists there but trying to find them and identify who is good will be tough. Also in all the tattoo studios i visited in Bangkok, Phuket and Pataya i did not see one sterilizer so 'clean' i dont think so.

very little 'care-factor' - some will tattoo you right inside the drinking bar...hhhmmmm..i agree with darren on that one, i don't think they are too clean- but look around first. check the indicator strip on the package- if it has turned brown, it has been steralised. if it is still pink or blue, not. but some place in hk is the same. just use the packet, but not the steriliser. bangkok is cheaper, i don't agree with this either.......if you are a local, maybe, but not if you are a tourist.
