Anyone had experience with the Woodland Peak Preschool and also their Preparation for Primary program? Thanks.

Hi kiwimmc,
How is it different to the normal program? Is it good and has it made any difference to your child? I am wondering if it's worthwhile.

My child is only enrolled in the Prep for preschool programme so I am not sure what is in a normal programme. I do know they spend time on numbers, letters, writing, etc. There is also art, and general free play time, culture. I think the programme means that when they start school it might be an easier transition as they already have started on some of those components they will learn at school, but they have done so in a smaller class size. I feel we have in a few months made some pretty major steps in number recognition, concepts of addition, writing. But it is hard to know if we would have been at a similar stage with just doing things at home or in another programme. Hope this is some help.

kiwimmc,
How about language/communication? Do they work on that aspect as well?
Is your little one in a different school? Why do you have to come to Woodland for this program?

they do have a mandarin instruction, but maybe the school would be best to answer. We are only at Woodland.

kiwimc,
Is your child attending extended day? Do you see a difference between going half day or full-day?
BTW, I heard ESF sends their admission rep into the school to observe/assess the children who apply to ESF school (I read on Playtimes magazine) Do you know if it's true?
