From time to time, a Chinese friend comes to me for advice on English business writing and how to present her ideas to her American boss. Her standard of English is quite inadequate but her business sense is surprisingly poor for someone in an executive position. I find myself having to coach her on analysing business situations, forumulating strategies and putting together proposals.
She's asked me to consider giving her private lessions and to name a price. Aside from wanting to improve her English, she sees value in my business background and wants me as her mentor.
Can anyone give me an idea on the going rate for lessons to children and adults.
What would be a fair price considering the fact that she is hiring an English teacher and a business trainer.

Considered that you're a Native Speaker - the going rate for teaching childres is about $230/hour and for adults is $250+/hour. Not sure about the trainer/mentor rate.

I would say the going rate is more likely $300- $350 an hour for children and more for business English.

You are doing more than just teaching English from the description you posted what you described is a former of corporate/executive coaching. The going rate for coaching is HK4000 to HK15000+ per day.

This string is pretty old but would like to hear from any Native English trainers or any one who has done corporate, executive coaching or business mentor training in Hong Kong , Interested in salary expections for part-time and tips on how to find the positions Thanks for the help
