Where can I buy decent deoderant?
I used to buy green mum roll ons . but they have stopped selling in HK . Can anyone recommend a brand that keeps you dry and non smelly?
Or alternatively, are there any treatments available in HK to prevent this problem?

Expensive (around $100) but I swear by Clinique's roll-on, effective and non smelly.

Yes I cannot find green MUM anymore, then I switched to using adidas - also available at Watsons and Park N Shop.
I got the one that's a white bottle with a light green cap, it's pretty good, I used it up then I went to get another one, this time around, I got the one with a transparent bottle and a blue cap - OH MY GOD - I'm smelling like a man now !
Yes it's for women but that small is probably not!

Nivea roll on for me! Lasts all day and smells totally neutral. The worst has to be Fa!

I've not seen my good old Mum on the shelves for ages -- but didn't realise it's not available anymore. Have switched to Dove roll on which has the advantage of not leaving white streaks on dark clothes

I've used the crystal deodorant (both roll on and rock crystal). It cut down on the odour somewhat. But since there are no anti-perspirant qualities to it, then it is only a matter of time before the smell builds up.

Nope, you're wrong, Tidings.... they clog your pores and that is bad in the long run.

Sweating is a natural way to eliminate toxins but with the presence of bacteria, they generate smell. In the natural products life style, antiperspirants are frowned upon. With the rise of cancers in the lymph nodes and breast tissues, there has been some research that has linked antiperspirants and cancer because they are based on aluminum. I've heard that using antiperspirants just after shaving isn't a good idea. I try to shower at night and use the deodorant crystals then wash again in the morning and use stronger antiperspirant/deodorants during the day. Unfortunately, in society and the business world, people are judged by body odour. I'm 32 and have used antiperspirants for many years but try to use them sparingly. There have been some new products on the market using cotton as an antiperspirant mechanism but I have not had such luck. Unfortunately, in the western world, for those of us with very active sweat glands, we have to chose to fit in or smell bad. Covering up with perfumes doesn't do the trick.

Bought those crystal ones back from Oz and let me tell you, height of the Hong Kong summer, on the beach, no chance. I was sweating and smelling like a ............(fill in your own words)

I'd tried the crystal thing but it did not work for me at all, although some of my friends said it was good.
I used to use Nivea but it took forever to dry. Only the roll on worked, but not the spray.
If anyone knows where in Hong Kong I can get Mum again, please let me know.

I told you Tidings it can be harmful in the long run....
You may sweat but you don't have to smell. It all depends on what you eat. Eat fresh veggies and fruit in summer, drink lots of water.

Rexona White is a good one. The fragrance is much more female-friendly.

I cannot wear deodorant/AP and was referred to a product by my GP - Driclor. You apply it at night and wash off in the morning. I use it every other night and do not sweat/smell during the day. You buy it from the pharmacy in Mannings. It costs around $120 but is well worth the money.

And some of react badly to the aluminum based anti-perspirants. It's not just cultural, though. Go to any store in the US like Target or Wal-Mart and go to the deodorants aisle . . and see how many only deodorants you can find for women, as opposed to for men. You won't find any! They only make combo deodorant/anti-perspirants for women, but you can buy combo or only deodorants for men. Men are allowed to sweat, but not smell. Women aren't allowed to do either.
Burt's Bees in Ocean Harbor carries an all natural deodorant in a recyclable pump can. Costs $150 but lasts a long time and works well on odor.
Or if you're picking up something in the States, try Tom's of Maine for an all natural, no aluminum stick gel.
