As a regular visitor-to-be (husbands job)I am wondering what there is to do with a 3yr and 1 yr old that isn't going to cost a fortune?
I am thinking along lines of drop-in playcentres and creches where my two can play with other children. I will be staying around Central/Mid Levels. I have trips to Disney/Ocean Park etc planned but any recommendations for parks and playgrounds would be good too. Thanks.

There are several nice beaches in HK, our favourite is Big Wave Bay. There are toilets, showers. a restaurant, and a park, with several places to buy your bucket and spades.

The rainy season is just starting, so here are some indoor ideas...
For nice days, HK Park is wonderful, and there are lots of small playgrounds aroud the mid levels, so you just need to find the one closest to you.

Time Square in Causeway Bay has a small indoor play area upstairs near the escalators.
The Library has a play room, and lots of books :) - I am not sure if they require a HKID card or not, so you might need to call and ask, or ask your concienrge

You can also try the below (although not free)- some are 'class registration only' but some allow one free or trial class or pay as you go - so you need to do some research - sorry.

VictoriaPark in Causeway Bay has got nice playgrounds and walking areas.
BTW, is it really a rainy season or just a high humidity season? I thought rains fall in Aug-Sep? I'm still relatively new to HK.

Or try some of the AFCD family trails

or visit Kadoorie Farm to see some unusual animals
www.kfbg.org.hk
Or the botanical garden off Garden road for more animals
Or, not free, but relatively cheap is The HK wetland park - vist Pui Pui the crocodile - it also has a great soft play room called the swamp adventure or something similar

Or prob for the 3 year old more than the smaller one - and also a bit dependent on if it's a girl or boy - go to Sham Shui Po and pick out lots of great chunky beads that cost next to nothing and make bracelets to give to friends back home...

Thanks for that! Can anyone recommend any indoor softplay areas?
