Marketing Analyst moving back to Hong Kong. I was a resident of Hong Kong for 2 years and still have a bank account with sufficient funds to live off.
1) Does anyone know if there is some special visa I can apply for so that I don't have to do the Macau/Shenzhen trips every 3 months?
2) Upon finding employment, does your HKID number just get "re-activated", or do you have to go through the whole immigration process again?

2) You have to apply for a new work visa, but in fact you can go on using your previous HKID card, even if it was not a permanent one. Just make sure to include a copy of it in your work visa application. Once the immigration department approves your visa, your old temporary HKID will be reactivated. However, if your previous HKID card is not one of the smart id cards, you have to get a new one. (But the replacement will have the same ID number).
