Rucksack/backpack to carry all things toddler-related?

A little frivolous I know but my basic bag messenger bag doesn't seem big enough for outings with my 13 month old anymore and is beginning to strain my shoulders with his joeysafe, water, snacks, food, nappies, toys and my personal belongings...you get the picture! I want to get a backpack and keep my hands free to handle kid and pushchair.

So I need ideas and recommendations for brands that can do:

1) black coloured backpacks that doesn't look too much like it's meant for camping, you know, with the drawstrings and all. something black and basic in design that hubby won't mind carrying either.

2) spacious with lots of pockets inside!

3) easy to clean

doesn't have to be a brand that specialises in nappy bags. i was thinking of samsonite but can't think up of other brands!

thanks in advance for suggestions! :)

well - 3 US brands that have specialized in bags for a long time that come to mind are -

www.llbean.com

www.landsend.com

www.eddiebauer.com

but I took a quick look - I'm not EXACTLY sure what you're looking for - so wasn't sure if I could advise you well enough about which one.

but hear you on the bag getting big. My sister in law gave me a free huge computer bag backpack from her company and I use that. Not pretty, not feminine, not ladylike, but does the job.

I would recommend an airpacks backpack because it is spacious, ergonomic and will reduce back stress up to 80%. They have small sizes for kids too. I got mine at my Chiropractor's office. You can check the website at www.vitalhealth.hk and click on vital health products

i was half-successful this morning with the bags. saw a great one from victorinox especially for travelling either as a carry on or if you are out all day. the design is simple and in black, which is what i wanted. downside is that it cost SGD289, which isn't what i am prepared to pay for.

in the end, i bought a plain one from Muji - only SGD49 but spacious enough to hold the stuff. but will still think about the victorinox for travelling.
