Any advice regarding living in Sai Kung/CWB would be really appreciated. We are considering moving to SK/CWB from HK Island. We have four kids (aged 15, 13, 5, 2). We desperately need space and would love a garden/outdoor area for the. The elder kids attend school at Canadian International but not a problem since I work and drive there every day. I worry about the teenagers and how they will travel/socialise from SK/CWB. They are independent to take MTR and public transports themselves. Anyone offer any insight into the pros and cons of living in Sai Kung/CWB. I love the Sai Kung area for the community feel and our long term is retirement in HK so this would be a good choice but we are so used to city life/convenience of HK Island. Any advice! Really want to move but still struggling ....

There are many teenagers that live in Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay. Most get used to using public transport by themselves from around 11 or 12 years. We're lucky as we only live a few minutes walk from the bus stops, but agree with SaiKunga if you choose to live in Lobster Bay, Sheung Sze Wan,Ng Fai Tin etc you will probably do a lot of driving up and down to the main rd. My 12 1/2 year old often goes into Sai Kung now to meet his friends, they go to the mini motorbikes, hire cycles or sometimes take their own, play football or basketball on the towns pitch. This area is a great place to live, would definately recommend it. My daughter has done all her teenage years out this way and hasn't had a problem with her social life or travelling.
