Asiana (via Korea) and China/Evergreen (Via Taipei) are often quite cheap.

I believe the OP is looking for fares ex-USA.

Unfortunately, passenger loads are high again, the USD is weak and oil remains expensive. It's difficult to find cheap fares these days, and certainly not on Cathay. For the cheapest fares, you'll need to connect somewhere. Or, wait until Oasis starts flying to Oakland.
