You can certainly narrow down the selection list by entering the first letter in the Range box. Then only those members commencing with that letter will be displayed in the second box.

I'm having a bit of trouble trying to understand how it can take as long as 4 minutes - or even anything more than 20 seconds max - to select the intended recipient. All you need is to know (a) the alphabet, and (b) the correct spelling of the recipient's ID. I just chose a couple of random IDs and it took less than 10 seconds each time. Am I missing something here? (If I am then maybe it's the same thing that Ed was missing.)

evidently Briandwest's suggestion is what they USED to have...and too much spam.
I even like the ability to type in a few letters and get to the one that you want quicker (a lot of websites when you are ordering something or choosing a country offer this system.)
