I was employed to work for a company in Shanghai, but the company decided to pay me from Hong Kong and apply for a business visa for me so I could work for them in Shanghai. Of course I left all the legal side of things to them and just focused on my job.
However, as time went by, they orally renewed my contract but did not provide new hard copies of the contract even though I asked for them repeatedly. Finally, after a dispute, I was asked to leave without notice or a final salary settlement.
I still have a business visa which is valid and was obtained by them.
I feel i have been unfairly treated and wonder if I can do anything to try to get the company to pay me what I feel they owe me after nearly 2 years faithful service; a final month's salary plus accommodation allowance, partial holiday pay, partial 13th month, partial annual flight ticket allowance, etc, all of which were in the original contract.
For me it is more a matter of principle. Companies should treat their employees with respect.
Your advice would be much appreciated.

I overlooked mentioning, my contract was with the company in Hong Kong, so I wonder if under Hong Kong law I have a leg to stand on?

where did you do most of your work? do you have any written records from the employer about your conditions of employment?
If you did the majority of your work in HK then talk to the labour dept (look on website) they have a hotline for such things. You might be able to get the information you need to make a claim in the labour tribunal.
