I am looking to buy a new pair of good quality hiking boots/shoes. Any recommendations in HK?


I have searched out a few shops in WanChai and Sheung Wan and have not found anything similar to MEC in Canada. Obviously I don't expect that in HK, but something on a smaller scale would be great, that specializes in footwear.

I recommend Protrek, search on the net there are several in HK. We get our shoes for mountain running and other equipment (Montrail.)

I would recommend those shops in Mongkok. They have few near the trainers street. professional hiking shop and i'm sure you will find something there.

There are 2 shops along Fa Yuen street in Mongkok (parallel to the ladies market, and perpendicliar to Dundas st) that specialize in mountain climbing/hiking shoes and other equipment. There's a Karrimoor sign outside, it's difficult to miss.


There's a Protrek shop along Hennessy road in Wanchai, close to the junction where Hennessy merges to become Queen's road East

I went to the Protek shop today. They only had one brand of shoes and I only found one that was somewhat reasonable in terms of fit. I will check the others out and see if I can find something better.
