Independent tests of various skin products report that there is no cream that will 'cure' wrinkles. The only one that went some way to delivering what it promised was a cheap Oil of Olay product, but that couldn't remove wrinkles, it just plumped the skin up a bit so they didn't show so much, but they were still there. Retinol is supposed to help, but even that can't turn back time. All of these ridiculously expensive potions like Creme de la Mer et cetera are marketed with scientific-
sounding semantics to con(vince) us into buying them in the belief that they will perform miracles. They can't and they don't. There are a few earlier threads on the subject here on this forum that you might want to read, but the main things seem to be to slap on the old sun block, drink plenty of water, live a healthy life and try not to have any worries as stress can do its bit to exacerbate them. Easier said than done!

I love Olay's Eye serum doesn't make them go away but makes them less noticable.

There is certainly a way to take away wrinkles ! I use Vitamin C and E Ferulic $800.00 per tiny bottle whcih lasts 3 months. You get it from dermatologists.
It absolutely works to reduce lines and to prevent them.
And yes, I do use it on my eyes as Dr Tinny Ho said to use it wherever I can tolerate it.
Eyes, neck, face and backs of hands.

The Latest Research Shows:
C E Ferulic provides more photoprotection than single antioxidant skincare technologies.
C E Ferulic provides 8x photoprotection and unprecedented anti-aging benefits.
C E Ferulic reduces sunburn cell formation up to 96% in UV irradiated skin.
C E Ferulic prevents the formation of thymine dimers, sun induced DNA mutations associated with skin cancer.

I sometime use La Mer Eye Cream. I think it has reduced my wrinkles significantly, but it's a little expensive.
However, I've ordered and used some fabulous products from this brand called 'Miessence'. It's 100% organic and made in Australia. I just think it has the best products and they're very reasonably priced. I've pasted the link below.

xox, interesting site, I've never heard of them.
It would be so cool if the products that really do work, like those we can get at our dr's office would be more affordable. Everyone deserves to look as young as they feel and wrinkles do carry a stigma.
I would love to know how much that $800.00 serum SHOULD cost.

Tidings:- you say you use your CEF only 'where you can tolerate it'. Why is that? I am considering using this serum, but can't do pain;)

I am sorry to make anyone think it is strong.
For SOME people, it can irritate the skin in the beginning. I never had that problem. I can use it everywhere.
The maker is Skinceuticals and you can google their website.
She also gives me Neostrata Hydroxy acid face creams for keeping my skin flawless. That costs about $400.00 and lastsw 4 months.

Hi Tidings 2, with the C E Ferulic, mine is a strong urine colour (if you know what I mean,
:-)), with a distinct smell. Just wondering if yours is the same, not that I think it is off, but I have heard that sometimes the C can spoil and it is the first time I have used this product. Dr Ho gave me a sample and I am very impressed. Thanks

wired, yes !! It does have an interesting odour. If is in a brown bottle tho so the light can't hit it and it's fine.
I started using Vitabolic by Lancome abt 8 years ago then graduated to C & E Ferulic from Dr Ho about 4 years ago.
I look 15 years younger than I am. I'm so hooked.
It is good too to use good cleansing products. I use things like Elemis cleanser and toner or Molton Brown.

The Skinceuticals one sounds great - can you only get it from dermatologists? Who would you recommend and at what age should you start using it?

Not really sure what age the dermatologist would recommend using C serum but for sure anyone who has ever had a sunburn qualifies even if you can't see the damage yet, it will come.

Looks like what I posted 33 days ago was wrong... If anyone is interested, there is, apparently, a cream that really can work. The following is from the UK Daily Mail this week and has been reported in many other papers. (btw, the Boots brand cream referred to costs the equivalent of c.HKD225.)
Scientists hail the face creams that really hold back the wrinkles By JENNY HOPE Last updated at 08:29am on 22nd May 2007
Boots face cream
Boots stores have been inundated with shoppers demanding No 7 Protect & Perfect anti-ageing face cream.
The battle against wrinkles has become a daily concern for many.
Bombarded by pictures of celebrities with "perfect skin", they worry about their own image in a culture that often seems youth-obsessed.
Now, however, a team of scientists has come up with news which should smooth away the frowns - some anti-wrinkle creams really do work.
They are the ones containing retinol or "pro-retinol", the compounds from which vitamin A is derived.
The U.S. study found they both improve the appearance of wrinkles and boost production of skin-building compounds.
Their verdict comes weeks after Boots stores were inundated with shoppers demanding No 7 Protect & Perfect anti-ageing face cream after it was endorsed by the BBC's Horizon programme.
The rush cleared the shelves and once Boots restocked the cream, which contains a pro-retinol complex, customers were limited to one purchase a week.
The latest trial, reported today in the journal Archives of Dermatology, focused on wrinkles caused by natural ageing, as opposed to the effects of the sun.
Researchers at the University of Michigan Medical School tested a retinol lotion on a group of elderly volunteers.
One arm was smothered in the retinol cream, the other in a lotion containing no vitamin A.
The treatment was repeated up to three times a week for 24 weeks.
Wrinkles, skin roughness and overall severity of ageing were graded on a scale from zero to nine. At the end of the trial, the researchers-found that all the ageing scores were significantly lower on the treated arms - even those of volunteers who had complained the lotion was having no effect.
Analysis of tissue samples from both arms showed that retinol had increased the production of two key components of the skin, glycosaminoglycan and procollagen.
Lead researcher Dr Reza Kafian said: "In natural ageing, skin loses its youthful appearance by becoming thinner, laxer and more finely wrinkled.
"These changes are readily appreciated by inspecting the upper inner arm.
"Thinner skin results from a reduced production of the protein collagen. Retinol improves fine wrinkles associated with natural ageing."
Dr Kafian said the production of collagen and glycosaminoglycan, which is known to retain water, were likely to be involved in reducing wrinkles.
The researchers said the creams could bring health benefits to older people because retinol-treated skin was more likely to withstand injury and the formation of ulcers. Wounds in thinner skin heal more slowly.
Retinol has to be used with care, however, because it can cause redness and irritation and sensitise the skin to sunlight.
