Now that Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong, Bangkok, KL, Hanoi, Xiamen,Macau, etc., are connected by low cost carriers what is the cheapest way to get to any of these places from S Korea?

I'm tired of having to pay 600,000 won or more to get to SE Asia.

You can check out whether Orient Thai is maintaining Seoul-Bangkok flight. From Bangkok, connect by using the other budget airlines eg. Air Asia, Nok Air, Tiger Air, Jet Air.

Early booking gets the best rate, but budget airlines will be longer travelling time.

thanks for the suggestions

i am in s korea and as a result it seems like any of the homepages, like orient thai, are just skeleton pages, and you can't book online and get a price and pay on line from in s korea, there is a phone number for orient thai in seoul and i tried it but it is out of service

nextour - thanks - a korean web page seems to have the best deals, but they aren't much different than the travel agents, which means return tickets from seoul to just about anywhere in seasia start around 300,000 won, but for more than one month(which is what we need) the tickets are usually over 500,000 won,

worth a try, it seems like the govt here has a pretty tight control on airlines coming in and out

thanks all for the suggestions

Hey Boston,

I know people fly to Beijing or other northern China cities as I heard the price from Seoul is not so expensive. then when in China they hostel/motel it for one night then purchase their tix to SE Asia or other Asia locations from Beijing as it is cheaper.

My friend from South Korea does it and stays in Hai Dian area of Beijing goes to a TA their gets a ticket for the next day to another city in Asia.

This maybe an alternative for you too.
