Hello guys, can anyone tell me what to do if u have only scalp but dry hair? I usually wash my heair everyday, if not i will have very only scalp. Some people says that don't wash it everyday so that the oil can go to your hair. But some says if you leave your scalp oily your hair will not grow back? Is it true? Recently my hair is getting lesser and lesser, is it because of oily scalp? What can i do? Help please!

It sounds like hormones. If I were you, I would see my gp or a dermatologist first.

I had a problem with my hair getting thin. Saw my Dr and discovered I have an underactive thyroid. Now on medication and my hair is thick once again. Didn't have the oily scalp, dry hair thing though but in your case it may be related to the thyroid hormone.

The problem could also just be the water that you use to wash your hair. "Hard" water can really dry your hair out. I'm not sure if this is a problem in Hong Kong, but my hair has been really dry because of the water since I moved to China. Some people's scalps are just naturally more oily than others. There are shampoos that are supposed to "normalize" this, but I don't know where you can get that in Hong Kong.

Hi Bama, yeah someone told me maybe it bec. of the water, too many chlorine.... but don't know if its true or just stress, pollution etc.
