Hi,
Yesterday during my facial, the beautician suggested I go to a dermatologist for 2 whiteheads she could see. Before, my assumption was that dermatologists are for skin problems such as skin cancer, infections, or serious acne.
I have reasonable skin, but would like to take care of it better but not sure how and why to approach the dr. Going for clearing a couple of whiteheads feels like a waste of time for the Dr and I am sure it costs some dough to see one too. What all reasons would you go to one for? Please advise.

Those so called whiteheads might actually be cysts or boils which could turn large and painful.
They can be pretty ugly and yes, that is also what dermatologists are for.
The average visit to one would be abt 650.00.

I had a whitehead on my eyelid which my beautician wouldn't pick for me....I left it alone and noticed that after a while it had disappeared so they don't have to turn into something nasty...
